Hello beautiful people of the internet! Welcome to my world of Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle.

Thought I’d introduce myself first as this is my first blog post ever (finally!). Those close to me know that this has been a long time coming, given the fact that I’ve always been obsessed with anything and everything Fashion & Beauty related.

Who is GDCG?

GDCG is short for my name: Gillian Da Costa Gomez. I’m a twenty-something, business graduate, fashion & beauty aficionado. I’m originally from the beautiful Caribbean island of Curaçao, but I’m currently living in the wonderful city of Amsterdam, whilst working in the Marketing & PR sector of the Fashion & Beauty industry, and I’m loving every minute of it!

What to expect?

I think it’s safe to say that it’s pretty clear by now that I’m going to be posting a lot about fashion and beauty, lol! Expect my blog to include fashion and beauty posts like outfits of the day, lookbooks, beauty favourites, makeup looks, etc. But also don’t be surprised if you see posts about travel and lifestyle, because your girl loves to explore!

Signature look

In my opinion, this wouldn’t be an exciting first blog post without showing you my outfit of the day. I consider my personal fashion style to be effortlessly chic, fun, sophisticated and a bit edgy. This outfit is one of my go-to summer looks for when I want to look put together for a casual lunch meeting in the city. It is comfortable, but yet chic, and airy enough for hot summer days.

I love refined and luxurious fabrics like silk. There’s something about silk that elevates the look and makes everything look more sophisticated. I paired this elegant Marchesa silk blouse (now on sale!) together with a faux python belt and faux leather skater skirt, both from Zara (aka my favourite high street store).

To complete the look I decided to go with my all-time favourite sunglasses from Dolce & Gabbana, some comfortable patent leather flats from Prada (similar without a bow), and my holy grail Chanel classic flap bag. The dainty ear jackets and bracelet are both from Swarovski. And I’m loving my Dior Polka Dots nail polish so much that I will be including them in my current luxury favourites.

And by the way, how cool is my new Cluse watch? I never thought I’d love a piece of jewellery this much. There’s something about the matte black finish on the bands and the black dial with gold details that makes this watch look so sophisticated. Love it!

Have you ever visited either Curaçao or Amsterdam? And what is your go-to summer outfit?
